JOB OVERVIEW
As a linguist working on Linguistic Validation (LV) projects, you are responsible for linguistically and culturally interpreting the written material in a way that maintains the structure and style of the original text while keeping the ideas and facts of the original material accurate.
Ideally, you possess fluency in two or more languages and have outstanding problem-solving skills that allow to research industry-specific terminology. You have a strong commitment to accuracy and show outstanding critical thinking skills when faced with challenging content and instruction. By working with us, you will build strong relationships with the IQVIA™ Language Solutions team and will play a key role in the effectiveness and success of IQVIA™ Language Solutions operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Be a strategic partner in delivering on-time and quality translations to IQVIA clients
• Carefully adhere to provided material and instructions to meet the requirements of the clients
• Research industry-specific terminology to properly reflect the meaning and tone of the source content
• Cross-reference specialized glossaries and translation tools to check the quality of the translation
• Quality Check translation jobs before delivery for grammar, spelling and punctuation accuracy
• Work with the IQVIA™ Language Solutions team to identify gaps in instructions or any external issue that may affect the commitment to the client.
• Flag project-specific queries in a timely manner
• Be the point of contact for IQVIA™ Language Solutions to assist with quality and on-time delivery investigations related to feedback.
• Maintain close communication with Project Management and Vendor Management teams with regards to own capacity
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Native in target language
Fluency in source language(s) – spoken and written
At least 1 year of experience in translating, editing, and/or reviewing medical content
Experience with translation management systems, as well as proficiency in Excel & Word
Freelance (no agencies)
Current resident of the United States
PREFERED
• Translation experience with Clinical Outcome Assessments
• Prior experience performing any harmonization task within Linguistic Validation of COAs: dual forward translation, reconciliation, back translation, comparison of back translations, etc.
